Liu’an New Industrial Town is an important part of the Heliuye Development Axis and the experimental zone for transfer of scientific research achievements within Hefei Economic Circle. The urban integration of transportation between Liu’an New Industrial Town and Hefei is conducive to converging the capital, technologies and talents.
Overall urban design scope of the project: 5.53 sq.km.; Urban design scope of the core area: 1.54 sq.km.
Planning vision:Prosperous new city with green water infrastructure, diverse new Liu’an with a caring atmosphere.
Development goals: “City on Water Bank” built alongside the water and with characteristic water infrastructure; “City of Nature” connecting various aspects of the life with green networks; “City of Vigor” with effectively-integrated multi-functions; “City of Neighborhood” with satisfactory work and living environments; “Modern City” full of vitality and warmth; and “Cultural City” integrating traditional elements and with profound accumulation.
Planning strategy: overall strategy: Maximizing the comprehensive economic, social and environmental benefits in development of the center area of New Town through such space strategies as “dissolving” the urban landscape open space system, exploring the potential of lean land operation and realizing closer “path” connections in the core area. Separate strategy: Building the landscape landmark with beautiful mountain and water sceneries through digging lakes and piling mountains; building the open space framework available for growth through linking the green cycles to surround the lake; building diverse water banks and creating the core with strong vigor based on introduction of transport resources; creating active bonds connecting the neighborhood and community through coherent paths linking the city and nature; building the lifestyle that leads the future through providing space experience full of vitality and vigor; and creating the scenario experience with landscape and cultural connotations through building personized landmarks around the lake.
